Sew Sweet

Cleaning my REALLY messy scraproom today.  Found some stamps I won over at the "Inspired By Stamping" blog.  (Thank you Joanna!)
These lovely Mason Jar stamps - http://www.inspiredbystamping.com/collections/stamps/products/mason-jars
- called out to me just begging to be inked.
I started by stamping the jar on an acrylic sheet from Clear Scraps.  These sheets are great for stamping and embossing.  Then I cut a thimble from some self adhesive cork from QuickKutz and added some heavy duty thread and some pretty stick pins from Little Yellow Bicycle.  Played around with some papers and embellishments from My Mind's Eye "The Sweetest Thing" line and here is the result:
The card is mounted on a piece of coordinating cardstock and place in a recycled, heavy duty plastic envelope that had contained some product from Creative Memories.  The info is written on the back of the cardstock and the card shows through - so the outside is as pretty as the inside.  REALLY love the canning jars - they can "hold" bugs, buttons, candy...   Here are links for some of the products used:

Winter Decorations

LOVE the new trend with canning jars.  Decorating with them is so simple.  Recently I saw some bottle brush trees in jars at Sears and knew I had to make some of my own.  I used a 2 quart, 1 quart and pint size jar.  Canning jars are available at your local hardware and grocery stores.  What is great is you can use them for other things during the year.

Amanda has some pretty cute decorations she made with her canning jars here also:

Hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving holiday.  I will be posting some Christmas cards later this week.

Hand Cut Words

Over at If It's Groovy, Groovy Deb is having a "Hand Cut Words Challenge".  The title of my LO was created by writing the title with my BIC correction pen and them cutting the words out with my #4 Fiskars Detail Scissors.
This was pretty far out of my comfort zone, but I think I will be doing this more often.  Next time I will try some type of marker with a larger tip.  The owls were punched using Fiskars Limited Edition squeeze punch "Owl Be Seeing You".  I used 2 different colors of cardstock, trimmed one of the punhed images to resemble the belly of the owl, added some google eyes and some marker details.
The branches were trimmed by hand.  When I buy paper, I always try to get a 6X6 paper pack when available.  These packs are great for titles, puches and matting.  Saves your 12X12 sheets for the layouts.
The leaves and flowers were from the embellishment packs.  Little Yellow Bicycle has awesome embellishments.  This is from their Acorn Hollow Collection - prob'ly my favorite paper line EVER!

Liberty Grace loves Owls.  When she sees one she says "Hoot, hoot!"  Her little costume came from Old Navy and she can use the little hat all winter long.
